What changed

Apple updated the submission process for In-App Purchases and subscriptions.

You can now submit these items directly from the In-App Purchases and Subscriptions sections in App Store Connect using Add for Review:

  • In-App Purchases
  • subscriptions
  • subscription groups
  • non-renewing subscriptions

Apple points to: “Learn more about submitting an In-App Purchase or subscription.”

Why this matters

This is not a “growth feature”, but it reduces a classic source of launch friction:

  • New price points, trial changes, and subscription group changes often get treated as “just configuration”.
  • In reality they are review-bound artifacts, and the workflow around them is where teams lose days.

A smoother, more explicit submission path helps you keep store messaging, paywall UX, and review timing aligned.

Tiny win

If you ship subscription changes regularly, add a simple checklist line:

  • “Do we have any IAP/subscription items that must be Added for Review separately from the binary?”

It is one of those boring checks that prevents “we updated the app but the purchase still isn’t live” incidents.
