Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile push notifications (July 2026): ‘Your day at a glance’ is the new reactivation surface

Microsoft is rolling out Copilot mobile push notifications like ‘Your Day at a Glance’ and ‘Items waiting for you’. It’s a clean example of how AI summaries can become the default daily habit loop, without users opening five different apps.

Buried in a long changelog is a very “app marketing” move: Microsoft is shipping Copilot prompts as push notifications.

They describe pushes like:

  • “Your Day at a Glance”
  • “Items waiting for you”

Tapping takes the user straight into the Copilot app with the response already on-screen.

The one-line lesson

AI summaries are turning push into a ‘daily briefing’ product, not just a reminder channel.

Why this matters for mobile teams

  • The push is the product surface. The promise is “save me time”, not “open the app”.
  • It bundles multiple workstreams. Instead of nudging users back to Outlook/Teams/OneDrive separately, the push creates one habit loop.
  • It sets a higher bar for relevance. Generic “come back!” pushes look worse next to “here are the 3 things waiting for you”.

Tiny win

Take one lifecycle push you already send and rewrite it as a briefing:

  • one sentence of context
  • one specific next action
  • one deep link that lands on the exact screen the user expects
